The intelligent on-load capacity-regulating and voltage-regulating combined transformer is an innovative and energy-efficient distribution transformer designed to enhance power quality and reduce operational losses. It integrates three major functional units: the transformer body, an intelligent control unit, and a remote monitoring and control loop.

The transformer body features a newly developed on-load switch that combines capacity regulation and voltage regulation. It provides two rated capacities—large and small—and automatically switches between them based on real-time load demands. The system also adjusts output voltage according to actual power consumption. This technology effectively addresses the high losses caused by seasonal and periodic load fluctuations in distribution networks and eliminates the operational challenges associated with manual no-load capacity and voltage regulation.

The intelligent control unit includes low-voltage distribution management, metering, and reactive power compensation modules. It automatically detects on-site conditions and performs capacitor-based common and split compensation to improve the power factor and mitigate three-phase imbalance issues. With the integrated remote management terminal connected through a GPS wireless network, operators can monitor key parameters such as voltage, current, active and reactive power, oil status, gas levels, and temperature. It also enables comprehensive “remote control, telemetry, remote adjustment, and remote signaling” functionalities for smart grid applications.
