The XGN-12 series intelligent solid-insulated ring main unit (RMU) is a fully insulated, fully sealed and maintenance-free vacuum switchgear. All high-voltage live parts are integrally cast with high-performance epoxy resin, providing excellent electrical insulation and mechanical strength. The vacuum interrupter, main circuit and insulation support are seamlessly integrated, while all functional units are connected through solid insulated busbars. This design ensures that the switchgear is completely unaffected by external environmental conditions, guaranteeing long-term reliability and operator safety.
The XGN-12 solid insulated switchgear features a compact structure, flexible operation, reliable mechanical interlocking, and easy installation. It is suitable for 50Hz, 12kV power distribution systems and is widely used in industrial and civil cable ring networks, terminal distribution networks and various receiving and distribution applications. It is especially ideal for urban residential power distribution, compact substations, opening and closing stations, cable branch boxes, box-type substations, industrial plants, commercial complexes, airports, subways, wind power stations, hospitals, stadiums, railways and tunnel projects.
Thanks to its fully insulated, fully sealed and fully shielded construction, the switchgear is suitable for extreme environments including high altitude, high temperature, high humidity, severe cold and heavily polluted areas.

Functional Unit Classification
The XGN-12 intelligent solid insulated cabinet is available in various module configurations depending on switch type, including load switch modules with grounding (C module), load switch modules without grounding (CB module), circuit breaker modules with grounding (V module), circuit breaker modules without grounding (VB module), circuit breaker interconnection modules (VZ module), load switch + fuse combination modules (F module), and isolating switch modules (G module). These modules can be flexibly combined to meet different engineering requirements.
Environmental and Technical Parameters
Operating conditions include an ambient temperature range of -45°C to +45°C, average daily relative humidity ≤95%, monthly average ≤90%, altitude below 2000m, and seismic resistance up to magnitude 8. The protection levels include IP67 for live components and fuse barrels, and IP3X for the switchgear enclosure.
Wide Application Adaptability
In low-temperature regions, the absence of SF6 gas ensures stable operation even at -45°C, eliminating concerns about SF6 low-temperature performance. In high-altitude areas, the solid insulation structure remains unaffected by reduced atmospheric pressure. For regions with strong sandstorms, the IP67 protection level ensures durability, while coastal and humid environments benefit from epoxy-resin sealing that resists moisture and salt-spray corrosion. In environmentally sensitive areas, the XGN-12 cabinet provides a zero-SF6 solution that avoids greenhouse gas emissions.
In smart grid applications, the main switches and isolating switches can be electrically operated, enabling remote control, telemetry and telecommunication functions. This supports both decentralized and centralized control for intelligent distribution network management.
