What is the system interconnection transformer

What is the system interconnection transformer
A transformer with two voltage levels of different busbars that exchange voltage is connected to the booster station. When the booster station has two busbars of different voltage levels and there is power exchange, a system interconnection transformer needs to be added at the booster station. The system interconnection transformer adopts a two-winding transformer, and the high and low voltage side windings of the transformer complete the voltage exchange and distribution functions of the high and low voltage side busbars.

Use of system interconnection transformer
The main function of the system interconnection transformer is to change the voltage, not only to raise the voltage to send power to the power supply area, but also to facilitate the transmission of power. On the same line, the same power is transmitted. After the voltage is boosted by the step-up transformer, the current transmitted by the line is reduced, which can reduce the line loss, improve the power transmission efficiency, and achieve the purpose of long-distance power transmission. It can meet the needs of users who use voltage at all levels. In short, both boost and buck can be done by the tie transformer. In the process of transmitting electric energy in the power system, voltage and power loss will inevitably occur. Using the transformer to increase the voltage will reduce the power transmission loss.
Insufficient system interconnection transformer
After a power supply area is fully equipped with a boost condition, the 20/10kV system interconnection transformer can be taken out of operation. Although the post-return contact transformer can be used again for other power supply areas that do not have a boost condition to achieve mutual communication between two different voltage levels, the project as a whole increases project expenditure.
Use of system interconnection transformer
In order to reduce the waste of resources in the process of grid upgrade, reduce project expenditure. ZTELEC has invested a large amount of money to develop a transformer SC(B) 10-30~2500/20(10) that can operate in both 10KV and 20KV power grids. Not only reduces other expenses in the re-project, but also does not delay the construction period. After the power grid upgrade is completed, the transformer can be directly adjusted to continue normal use, which speeds up the efficiency of the project.
